Rick Roehl
President
A native of Marshfield Rick literally grew up in his Dad’s business. Rick has done most every job in the company from Fleet Manager to Load Planner and everything in between. After Rick received his Associates of Arts Degree in Accounting from North Central Technical College in Wausau Wisconsin he became a truck fleet Owner Operator leasing his trucks to Roehl Transport. This experience gave Rick the grounding in understanding truck operations, costs, cash flow, equipment, customer service and time management. Rick continues to maintain his Commercial Drivers License and still hauls loads several times a year as a way to stay close to our customers and drivers.

Steve Wykle
Vice President of Finance
Steve grew up in the Chicago area and attended Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington Illinois where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting. Steve became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and spent six years with Arthur Andersen in Chicago helping develop their Small Business Practice. From Andersen, Steve joined Sunrise Medical in Steven Point, Wisconsin as part of that management team for sixteen years. He served in roles of Vice President of Customer Care, General Manager, as well as Vice President of Finance helping them become an industry leader in medical capital equipment. Steve brought his broad business skills to Roehl in July 2002 in his current capacity.

Ray Gabriel
Vice President of Operations
A native of the Chicago suburbs Ray went to school at Saint Norbert College in DePere Wisconsin where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. After school Ray joined the U.S. Army where he spent five years as an Armor Officer in a variety of leadership roles. Ray left the Army as a Captain and not long after joined Schneider Transport where he took on key roles in operations and fleet management. He left Schneider as the Vice President of Intermodal Operations. Ray’s focus is on operational excellence especially safety and providing on time service. Ray’s team works within a continuous improvement framework to ensure the highest standards of performance. By conducting root cause analysis, process improvement, work simplification, coaching and high level of communications we’re delivering results. This year evidenced by three of the American Trucking Associations top honors for safety and numerous top carrier awards from some of the nation’s marquis shippers.

Phil Trierweiler
Vice President of Maintenance
Phil is responsible for maintenance, repair, parts and vehicle systems testing and specification for Roehl’s fleet of nearly 2000 trucks and over 4000 trailers. He holds an Associates Degree in Truck and Heavy Equipment Maintenance and is completing a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. A native of Marshfield, Phil has been with Roehl for 26 years. Under Phil’s leadership we have partnered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency through their SmartWay program since the inception of the program and have received their highest honor the SmartWay Excellence award for the past two years in a row.

 

Greg Koepel
Vice President of Workforce Development and Administration
A native Lake Linden Michigan (a Yooper) Greg holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Michigan Technological University, Houghton Michigan and a Masters Degree in Management from the University of Phoenix Aurora Colorado Campus. His responsibilities include recruiting and staffing, training, pay and benefits administration, employment management, employee relations, corporate communications, administration and organizational development. In 2006 Greg received The Human Resources Professional of the Year Award from the American Trucking Associations. A veteran of the Michigan Army National Guard and the U.S. Army from 1980 – 1990, Koepel has been with Roehl since June 1999.

John Spiros
Vice President of Safety and Claims Management
John grew up in the Akron Ohio area and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the McKinney and Rowlett Texas Police Departments. He holds an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha Nebraska. John administers the company’s safety, compliance and claims programs. In April of 2005 he was elected to Marshfield’s City Council as an Alderman representing the city’s 8th Ward. John has been with the company since August 2002. John’s leadership has resulted in receiving the American Trucking Association's Excellence in Claims Administration and Loss Prevention Award for the past three years in a row. Customers recognize that we produce very few claims but when they do occur we resolve the situation quickly in a mutually agreeable way.
